Bowen Technique

What is the Bowen Technique?

The Bowen Technique is a gentle soft tissue remedial therapy, named after its innovator Tom Bowen. A gentle, non-invasive, relaxing treatment using fingers or thumbs to move over muscle, ligament tendon and fascia which encourages the body to realign and rebalance itself and promoting healing, pain/tension relief and recovery of energy. The work is very subtle involving no manipulation or prolonged pressure. Bowen therapists acknowledge that the body has the ability to adjust, adapt and heal itself and treatment aims to assist the body with this. More information on Bowen Technique is available at the European College of Bowen Studies web site: www.thebowentechnique.com and from the Bowen Therapy Professional Association.
